ISO 1217 is an international standard that provides guidelines for the measurement of air flow rate, pressure and power for compressors, vacuum pumps and air treatment equipment. The standard includes both test procedures and calculation methods for determining the performance characteristics of these types of equipment.

ISO 1217 is divided into several parts, each covering a different aspect of compressor performance testing. Part 1 of the standard, for example, covers the measurement of volumetric flow rate, while part 2 covers the measurement of pressure. Part 3 covers the measurement of power, and part 4 covers the measurement of compressor specific power. The standard also includes annexes with more detailed information on the measurement of certain parameters, such as the measurement of compressor sound power levels.

The standard is intended to provide a consistent and reliable method for determining the performance of compressors and related equipment, which will aid in the selection, installation and maintenance of the equipment, and improve the overall performance and efficiency of the compressed air systems.
