Product Update: Extended UV Lamp Lifetime for PID Sensors (S600, S601, S605, S606, S120)

24. February 2026

We have improved the UV lamp lifetime of the PID (Photoionisation Detector) sensor used in our compressed air quality solutions. The operating lifetime has been extended from 6,000 hours to up to 9,000 hours, providing enhanced reliability and reduced maintenance effort.

This update applies to the following products:

  • S600 Portable Compressed Air Purity Analyzer
  • S601 Compressed Air Purity Monitor
  • S605 Portable Breathing Air Quality Analyzer
  • S606 Breathing Air Quality Analyzer
  • S120 Oil Vapor Sensor

What the PID Sensor Does

The PID sensor is used for oil vapor monitoring in compressed air systems. It detects oil vapors and volatile hydrocarbons (VOCs), supporting compliance with ISO 8573-1.

It plays a key role in:

  • Verifying compressed air quality classes
  • Monitoring filter and dryer performance
  • Detecting contamination risks at an early stage
  • Protecting product quality, processes and equipment

What’s Improved

  • +50% longer UV lamp lifetime (6,000 → 9,000 hours)
  • Reduced maintenance intervals and less downtime
  • Lower total cost of ownership over the instrument lifetime
  • Improved continuity for long-term monitoring and audits

Availability & Upgrade

The updated PID sensor is now integrated into new units.

If you would like to check whether your existing device already includes the updated sensor, or if you are interested in an upgrade, please contact us at sales@suto-itec.com.

Summary

With this improvement, SUTO iTEC continues to enhance reliability and efficiency in compressed air quality monitoring, ensuring stable long-term measurements and reduced operational effort for our customers.
